    Türkiye has a long tradition of satire, dating back to the Ottoman era, but modern restrictions have led to the closure of satirical magazines like Penguen and the cancellation of political comedy shows such as Plastip Show and Olacak O Kadar. Despite this, some outlets like the women-led Bayan Yanı persist in challenging power. For New Lines Magazine, I wrote a piece on the roots of political satire and why the show must go on.
